About Filamentex

Yarn that behaves the same way on the tenth order as it did on the first.

Filamentex is the polypropylene multifilament yarn brand of Bin Qasim Packages (Pvt) Ltd. We already run PP through our own plant every day as woven fabric and FIBC — so we came to yarn knowing exactly how it fails on a stitching line, and what a buyer actually notices when a batch drifts.

That plant-floor knowledge sits behind every spindle. European extrusion equipment holds denier, tenacity and twist inside a tight window; our own quality checks confirm it before the yarn leaves Port Qasim.

Reliable, repeatable, high-performance yarn — order after order.

Our vision

To become a globally trusted supplier of high-performance polypropylene yarn by delivering consistent quality, reliable supply, and long-term value to our partners.

The material

Why polypropylene

At a specific gravity of 0.91, PP is the lightest commercial synthetic fibre in common use. You get more running length per kilogram than nylon or polyester, and the fibre shrugs off water and most plant chemicals.

0.91

Specific gravity

Lighter than water, and the lightest of the common synthetics — higher yield and more coverage per kilogram.

<0.1%

Moisture regain

Effectively hydrophobic. Dimensions and strength hold through humid storage and monsoon shipping.

pH 1–14

Chemical resistance

Stable against acids, alkalis and most industrial chemicals encountered in fertiliser, cement and chemical packing.

High

Strength to weight

Strong yet light — load-bearing seams without adding mass to the bag or the freight bill.

Low

Abrasion loss

Survives needle heat and guide friction, so fewer thread breaks and fewer machine stops.

Inert

Hygienic and non-reactive

Does not support bacterial growth and stays neutral against the goods it packs.

Product range

Four ways we spin it

Filamentex bobbins in natural, maroon, navy, green, yellow and red

Continuous filament multifilament

The base yarn. Uniform filament structure, run flat with no added twist — for weaving, tape reinforcement and downstream twisting.

Twisted yarn, single ply

Twist inserted to your TPM. Rounder, firmer package that feeds cleanly through needle eyes and tensioners at speed.

High tenacity industrial yarn

Drawn hard for 6–7 g/den with controlled elongation. Built for load-bearing seams on FIBC and heavy woven sacks.

Customised yarn

Denier, twist, strength profile and colour set against your machine and end use. Send a sample and a target; we match it.

Colour on request

Masterbatch dyed, not surface coated

Pigment goes in at the extruder, so the colour runs through the filament and will not rub off on the fabric. Standard shades below; matched shades to your reference on request.

Key features

What it does on the machine

  • Uniform filament structure — smooth, predictable running behaviour
  • High tenacity — holds demanding stitching and load-bearing seams
  • Controlled elongation — stable under high-speed tension
  • Consistent denier and twist — batch to batch, order to order
  • Low shrinkage — dimensional stability in use
  • Excellent abrasion resistance — longer service life, less wear

Which adds up to fewer thread breaks during stitching, cleaner seam holding, and stable output on high-speed lines.

Manufacturing & process control

Consistency is a process, not a promise

  1. 01

    Resin intake

Prime PP resin checked on arrival for melt flow and contamination before it reaches the hopper.

  2. 02

    Extrusion & spinning

European extrusion technology with metered dosing. Melt temperature and throughput held steady so denier does not wander.

  3. 03

    Drawing

Godet ratios set the strength–elongation balance. This is where 6–7 g/den is made or lost.

  4. 04

    Twisting & winding

Twist inserted to the specified TPM and wound to a stable package that unwinds without snarling.

  5. 05

    Testing & release

Denier, tenacity and elongation verified against the order sheet. Batch records kept so a repeat order can be matched.

Common questions

What buyers ask first

What denier range does Filamentex supply?

Standard production runs from 700 to 4000 denier. Deniers below 700 are coming soon.

What tenacity does the yarn reach?

6 to 7 grams per denier, with elongation held between 20 and 25 percent. Tell us which side of that window your seam needs and we set the draw ratio accordingly.

Is the yarn available in colours?

Yes. Colour is added as masterbatch at the extruder, so pigment runs through the filament rather than sitting on the surface and will not rub off onto the fabric. Shades can be matched to a reference sample.

Is two-ply or three-ply yarn available?

Single ply is in production now. Two-ply and three-ply constructions are coming soon.

Can you send a sample before we order?

Yes. Samples can be arranged for evaluation on your own stitching or twisting line. Send the denier, twist and end use and we will match the specification.

Where is Filamentex yarn manufactured?

At the Bin Qasim Packages plant at Plot E-39 and E-40, North Western Industrial Zone, Port Qasim, Karachi, Pakistan, on European extrusion equipment.

The company behind the brand

Bin Qasim Packages (Pvt) Ltd

A vertically integrated polypropylene manufacturer at Port Qasim, Karachi, with eighteen years in PP-based industrial packaging. Three lines run under one roof: PP woven bags, FIBC bulk bags, and Filamentex multifilament yarn.

Integration is the point. We consume our own yarn in our own bags, so a quality problem shows up on our stitching floor before it ever reaches yours.

  • Vertically integrated production
  • Eighteen years of industrial PP experience
  • Export-oriented, documentation ready
  • Built around long-term supply relationships
